ONE NORTH LASALLE’S COURTNEY HAMM AND LARRY DUNN WIN BOMA GOLD CIRCLE AWARDS

CHICAGO, February 10, 2020 – MB Real Estate is pleased to acknowledge Courtney Hamm and Larry Dunn as Gold Circle Award winners at BOMA/Chicago’s 2020 TOBY/Gold Circle Awards Gala, which took place at the Sheraton Grand Chicago the evening of January 30, 2020. Courtney Hamm, VP and General Manager of One North LaSalle, received the Property Management Professional of the Year award; Larry Dunn, One North LaSalle’s Chief Engineer, won the Building Engineer of the Year award.

“We are thrilled that Courtney and Larry were recognized for their amazing accomplishments,” said Suzanne Hendrick, MBRE’s SVP & Managing Director of Asset Management. “Over the years, One North LaSalle and MBRE have benefited enormously from their expertise, team leadership, and positive energy. They are both truly exceptional in their fields and could not deserve these awards more.”

One North LaSalle VP and General Manager Courtney Hamm is known for working tirelessly to foster a sense of community for the building’s tenants. From happy hours in the tenant lounge to an eclipse viewing party on the terrace, Hamm’s efforts to activate One North LaSalle’s spaces have led to spectacular tenant engagement. Hamm also spearheaded the first dog-friendly program in the Chicago Central Business District, an effort that has become an example for other buildings that have since followed in One North LaSalle’s pawprints. As General Manager, Hamm has also made charitable causes a priority. Every year, One North LaSalle participates in events and benefits for Salvation Army, the American Red Cross, and the Greater Chicago Food Depository, among other organizations. In 2018, One North LaSalle collected 369 pounds of food from tenants for hungry Chicago families.

Among Chief Engineer Larry Dunn’s many accomplishments are several updates to the historic One North LaSalle to ensure peak energy efficiency. From an overhaul of 29 air handlers to the installation of 52 new variable frequency drives, Dunn’s efforts have earned One North LaSalle hundreds of thousands of dollars in rebates from Peoples Gas and ComEd and reduced energy consumption by 236,000 kWh per year. In 2018, Retrofit Chicago recognized Dunn’s energy-reduction efforts by awarding him the organization’s Most Valuable Engineer Award, and awarding the building the Energy Efficiency Award that same year.

One North LaSalle, owned by Bridge Investment Group and managed by MB Real Estate, was built in 1930. The 490,000-square-foot structure in the Central Loop recently added a new full-service tenant amenity floor, dubbed the Landmark. Hailed by the Chicago architectural community as one of the best examples of Art Deco in the city, the building is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
